Salesforce resources – Salesforce Administrator Exam Preparation

In this section, we will look into useful official sources and materials from the CRM god, which is of course Salesforce. Some of them you probably already know, but perhaps I will provide a different perspective on them for you.

Trailhead

You probably already know about Trailhead as we have mentioned Salesforce Trailhead many times in this book as well. When studying Salesforce for the Salesforce Certified Administrator certificate, it’s worth focusing on the Trailhead modules recommended by Salesforce itself at https://trailhead.salesforce.com/en/credentials/administrator. At the moment, Salesforce recommends the following trails:

  • Prepare for Your Salesforce Administrator Credential: This is a Trailhead Trailmix, which is a collection of several modules merged into one, covering the scope required for candidates aiming for the Salesforce Administrator role.
  • Study for the Administrator Certification Exam: A short and simple trail. It’s worth doing it at the beginning, but it’s not sufficient on its own. You can learn very basic stuff about Salesforce configuration and features here.
  • Interactive Practice Test for the Salesforce Certified Administrator Exam: Currently, it consists of 30 free test questions from Salesforce, similar to those that will appear on the exam.

Additionally, it’s worth looking for other Salesforce Trailmixes created by Trailhead users. Yes, you read that correctly; anyone can create their own Trailmix consisting of various Trailhead modules and share it with others. I have used such Trailmixes myself. One example of such a Trailmix is created by Mike Wheeler, a well-known figure in the Salesforce community for creating certification preparation courses. Mike has created his own Salesforce Trailhead Trailmix called “Mike Wheeler Administrator Certification Trailmix,” which you can find by searching within the Salesforce Trailhead platform after logging in or just by googling it. The author of this text has also created his own Trailmix focusing on the basic functionalities of Salesforce Sales Cloud. The links to both Trailmixes you will find in the Further reading section of this chapter.

Additional reference

In summary, when it comes to Trailhead, I recommend sticking to the official Trailhead modules recommended by Salesforce and expanding them as needed during your free time with other Trailmixes, such as the ones mentioned by me.

However, if you have even more free time for learning, I’ll now recommend something that was a game-changer for me in terms of learning and understanding Salesforce. Keep reading to find out more!
